Back to School

So it's time to face reality. Summer vacay is dwindling faster than I care to admit. It has been lovely staying at home with my munchkin and not having a schedule to follow. But now, as July fades away, I begin to get a tiny bit excited about the future. I have been surfing the web. Checking out Teachers Pay Teachers. Dreaming about the perfect schedule. I have been to the school supply section at Target. (gasp!) I admit it. I have grand plans. I have been inspired by the many blogs I have read this summer and now it is time to prepare for an overhaul. After all these years it's time to do things differently. I don't want to be that teacher that gets so stuck in a rut that I absolutely refuse to change how things are done. I may be thirty... something, but I want to have that fresh-out-of-student-teaching drive that I had oh so long ago. So,with that being said, I want to encourage all you old timers and newbies and everyone in between out there- It's time! Wake up! Find something new (to you) and exciting (for all) to use in your classroom this year. I know I will!

What new things are you going to try this year?

Blessings,
Megan

TPT

Ok, so I am NOT a seller at Teachers Pay Teachers... yet. Maybe one day inspiration will hit.  But for now, I will have to settle for buying. A lot. My most favorite seller so far is Amy Lemons from Step Into Second Grade. She has created the cutest things and I can't wait to try them out on my class this year. You can check out her TpT store here, or read her blog here.

I picked this baby up yesterday
And this:

Go check out her stuff. I'm sure you will love it!

????

I have so many questions about how to design a blog worth reading. As I sit here on my couch watching Youtube tutorials on how to create digital paper and doodles and stuff, I realize I may have bitten off more than I can chew. Why can't things be easier? I mean, I think I'm pretty computer savvy, but I've got a long way to go before I can do all that nonsense.  Oh well.  I'll stick to what I'm good at and worry about all that later. For now, I leave you with this thought: It will never get done if you do not start. So get going silly!

Blessings,
Megan

It's about time!

Well hello out there! After stalking many blogs over the years, I have finally decided to take the plunge. I am now a blogger.  Ta-da! Hopefully I will live up to my own expectations of creating something fabulous, but for now, we will all have to settle for this. I know very little about the whole process and I'm looking forward to learning lots and lots. What helped me get started? Mrs. Lindsey over at Teacher Blogging Basics. So, if you are looking to start one of these up, I suggest you start there.

Anyway, a little bit about me.  I am a second grade teacher in the great state of Texas. This year will be my 15th year teaching and it still feels like yesterday that I was graduating and stepping into the classroom for the first time. I have been married to the Mr. for 12 years, and we've got ourselves a 4 year old little cutie patootie.  He keeps us pretty entertained. Our little family is very involved in our church and we love our Jesus! I love to craft, sing, quote movies, laugh, and play. That's me in a nutshell.

As the year goes on, I hope to share with you many adventures, stories, and tidbits that make me who I am today. Looking forward to it!

Blessings,
Megan
